This wonderful reality: The best is yet to come.
World Poetry Slam Champion HARRY BAKER is back and more full of wonder than ever. Celebrating wellies, postcodes, funerals and fertility journeys, his combination of playfulness, vulnerability and irrepressible hope has reached millions online and now he is back for more. Building on last year's 40-date sellout run, Wonderful 2.0 hopes to make you cry with laughter, laugh through tears, or dream scenario: both. HARRY BAKER - a little about him...
World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker is a poet and a maths graduate. He writes about important stuff like hope, dinosaurs and German falafel-spoons. His work has been shared on TED.com and viewed by millions online but is even better in person. His latest collection Wonderful came out in May 2024 alongside a 40-date sellout UK and Ireland tour of the same name. In 2023, he headlined The Poet’s Revival at the Royal Albert Hall with Kae Tempest and George the Poet... and hopes to headline the festival of your heart very soon.

🗣️ TOPHER CHARD...
is a local small business owner with a passion for good coffee, raising his two girls in the dark arts of cheeky photos, and mixing words to create an emotive backdrop. Rediscovering poetry when he was 28 after a 10 year break, his love has become his therapy and means of spreading joy!
🗣️ NATTIE FLANNERY...
all-round-tour-de-force, proud Irishwoman, mother of two, and well-loved newcomer to the Newquay community. Her work blends autobiographical reflections, along weith a spirituality of hope and call-to-action. She hosts “Poetry Night” at the Celtic Lounge, which has picked up the mantle of SproutSpoken in providing a welcoming and supportive space for all comers to share their words. She was recently seen at the International Women’s Day Cabaret at the Acorn in Penzance.
🗣️ ROBBIE GILLETT...
aka Beneath The Tracksuit is a talented emerging spoken word artist, hailing from Bodmin where he helms the Bring Your Verses night at The Old Library. He is author of Thoughts of a Warrior and I Don't Like Poetry, and loves to show the world that poetry can be deep, emotional... and it still isn't boring!
🗣️ JO MASON...
is a mother, teacher, lover, fighter, smiler, scowler, wine-drinker, beach-lover, festival-goer, doggo-best-friend and now... a writer and performer! After growing up in Birmingham with and interest in the arts, Jo trained in the 90's as a performing and community artist at LIPA. This bizarrely led to a 20 year hiatus, from writing and performing, which was spent teaching secondary school drama from Birmingham, to Plymouth, to Kenya, before landing in Cornwall and raising the most fantastic child. Jo has rediscovered a renewed love of telling and performing her entertaining stories, with some being more autobiographical than others.
🎵 FROM SCRATCH CHOIR... are a Natural Voice Community Choir based in Newquay run by Alex Dunkley. Formed in July 2023, they sing world folk music with earthy and ancestral links in three and four part harmony. They are a non auditioning choir and have a wide age range drawing from all around Newquay and further afield. They are thrilled to be singing at the Harry Baker gig and have been loving choosing the right songs for the occasion. Alex has been a community musician for over 25 years and loves leading community choirs when she’s not playing the double bass or writing. She strongly believes that everyone has the ability to sing and enjoys teaching songs by ear to the choir. They can be found @fromscratchchoir or in Newquay every Wednesday evening in term time at St Michael’s Church Hall.
